Dear colleagues,

Please see the information below for an event commemorating the life and work of Professor Judith Baxter, to be held at Aston University in November. The event will be of interest to anyone who has been influenced by Judith’s work, and/or who has an interest in the themes of her research, including (but not limited to) language, gender and identity, women in leadership, feminist practice, and poststructuralist discourse analysis. The full event programme and link to registration is available at http://www.aston.ac.uk/lss/research/lss-research/ccisc/news-and-events/

Judith Baxter: Scholar, Researcher and Mentor

Friday, 23rd November 2018, 9.45am-4.30pm

Conference Aston, Birmingham

The day will include a keynote speech from Professor Binna Kandola, a Business Psychologist specialising in the study of gender bias and unconscious bias in organisations. He and Judith were influenced by one another’s work and shared a strong mutual admiration and respect. We will also hear from Judith’s colleagues, students and family, who will bring together personal and professional reflections on their working relationships with Judith, and from academics drawing on Judith’s work across a range of themes, fields and disciplines.

The event includes lunch, refreshments, and plenty of opportunity for discussion and reflection. We are suggesting donations of £10 (full fee)/ £5 (concessions), which will go to Penny Brohn Cancer Care, a charity Judith both supported and benefited from.

A full event programme and link to registration is available at http://www.aston.ac.uk/lss/research/lss-research/ccisc/news-and-events/

Please contact Jai Mackenzie with details of any dietary requirements, at jai.mackenzie at nottingham.ac.uk<mailto:jai.mackenzie at nottingham.ac.uk>

Registration will close on Thursday, 8th November.

With best wishes,

Jai Mackenzie
