<p>Hello Pointees!<br><br>I write with a question that perhaps some of you have expertise in. A friend of mine (straight, male, South African, former Apartheid activist) recently wrote to me for my thoughts on wartime and post-war linguistic dynamics (as he put it: "eg
popular music of ethnic communities during war - some of which displays
extreme violence - as well as the language of post-war peacekeeping and
how this affects minorities in the war/post-war zone")<br><br>he is asking for thoughts on how queer theory, particular lesbian queer theory, understands dynamics in war and post-war so called "peacekeeping." he will soon be working with a group of queer women in a post-conflict zone, so although a bit of this is theoretical in nature, i'm also looking for thoughts on practice, in addition to pure theory.<br>
<br>thanks in advance for any thoughts you may have. and yay to such a listserv existing where i can even hope to get responses to such a query/queery!<br><br>tanene<br>
