This is not <i>strictly </i>language & gender-related but certainly

<i>indirectly </i>so.<br><br>

Gil Herdt and others founded the Amsterdam Summer Institute on Sexuality,

Society and Culture in 1995.  The Institute, addressed to graduate

students, advanced undergraduates, and interested faculty members and

professionals, has a great reputation.  This year we have a

tremendous faculty, made up of both junior and senior, theory- and

practice-oriented scholars.  I have just stepped in as co-director,

and will be teaching the one-week plenary introduction course (which will

have plenty of gender & language content).<br><br>
