Description<br><br>
This event will engage participants with an overview
of ethical issues in<br>
narrative research, a consideration of how narrative research
presents<br>
specific, unavoidable, and productive problems in the ethical arena, and
some<br>
specific examples of ethically challenging research. The workshop
will<br>
involve presentations, as well as small group work on ethical
issues.<br><br>
Participants are encouraged to bring their own
examples of ethical<br>
dilemmas to the workshop.<br>

11.30-11.45: Tea/coffee<br><br>
11.45-1.15: Maria Medved and Jens Brockmeier: The
ethics of narrative<br>
research involving Aboriginal women<br><br>
1.15-2.15: Lunch<br><br>
2.15-3.15: Small group work on ethics
vignettes<br><br>
3.15-3.30: Tea<br><br>
3.30-4.00: Paired work and then general discussion of
how all this<br>
relates to the participants' questions<br><br>

Fees for this event are as follows:<br><br>
£30 per day for UK-registered students. £60 per day
for staff from UK<br>
academic institutions (including research centres), ESRC funded
researchers<br>
and UK registered charitable organisations. £220 per day for all
other<br>
participants. The course fee includes course materials, lunches and
morning<br>
and afternoon refreshments. <br>
