Floro<br>Manager<br><br><br>++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++<br><br>PHONETICS SEARCH 2012-13<br><br>ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITION IN PHONETICS<br>UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY<br><br>The Department of Linguistics at the University of California, Berkeley<br>has been authorized to make an appointment in phonetics at the rank of<br>assistant professor (tenure-track). Salary will be commensurate with<br>experience; the Ph.D. is required by July 1, 2013, the starting date of<br>the appointment. Duties will include undergraduate and graduate advising<br>and teaching (four courses per year, in phonetics and other areas of<br>linguistics), supervision of student research, and development of a<br>successful and original research program.<br><br>We seek applicants who have a broad intellectual engagement in<br>linguistics, a theoretically informed research specialization in<br>phonetics, and demonstrated excellence in teaching. Expertise in<br>articulatory phonetics is essential. Research experience in instrumental<br>phonetic fieldwork will be considered an asset, though is not necessary.<br><br>Applications must include a cover letter, curricula vitae, electronic<br>copies of representative publications, research and teaching statements,<br>and evidence of excellence in teaching.
