<p class="wordsection1" style="background: white;"><strong><span style="color: rgb(33, 33, 33); font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif";">The i-mean 4 conference will address the relationship between language and impact:</span></strong><span style="color: rgb(33, 33, 33); font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif";"></span></p>
<p class="wordsection1" style="background: white;"><span style="color: rgb(33, 33, 33); font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif";">‘Impact’ has become a buzz word and is increasingly used as a criterion for decisions on research policy and research funding. The
impact of linguistic research has been particularly visible in a number of areas including but not limited to language variation and change, language and politics, language policy and language use, language and identity (e.g. in relation to professional identity,
gender, ethnicity or age), corporate and health care discourse, leadership and teamwork and linguistic vitality among others. The impact of the different epistemological and methodological approaches and the impact of the language of impact, however, are
more rarely addressed. </span></p>
<p class="wordsection1" style="background: white;"><span style="color: rgb(33, 33, 33); font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif";">I-mean 4 aims to take a critical approach to impact and examine:
