The University of Colorado Boulder seeks a scholar of Applied Linguistics<br class="">

for a tenure-track joint position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the<br class="">

departments of Linguistics and Spanish & Portuguese to begin August 2016.<br class="">

<br class="">

Candidate must have a record or promise of an active research agenda in one<br class="">

or more key areas of applied linguistics, such as second/heritage language<br class="">

acquisition, language ideology, or language contact and bilingualism.<br class="">

Candidates must have native or near-native proficiency in English and<br class="">

Spanish, the ability to direct Ph.D. dissertations and Masters Theses or<br class="">

exams, as well as teach undergraduate courses on heritage languages. PhD<br class="">

prior to the appointment is required. Job duties include a course load of<br class="">

four courses per year, teaching undergraduate and graduate linguistic<br class="">

courses in both departments, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students,<br class="">

and service to the University of Colorado.<br class="">
