Dirk,

As far as I can understand the Battle Axe Culture
was spread in Scandinavia, Central Europe
down to Switzerland and Bohemia, Poland, Central
Russia and Ukraine.

In Scandinavia it appeared around 2800 BC and is
mainly known from 300 graves from Scania in the South
to Uppland in Sweden and Troendelag in Norway in
the North.

3,000 axes have been found mainly in the southern third
of Sweden. Less than 100 habitations are known, but
most of the habiotations of the Battle Axe people would
have been on agricultural ground, which over the centuries has
been used and the habitations have been cultivated away.

The question is then, how is the Battle Axe Culture to
be placed in the matter of the original home of the
Germanic peoples?

Gothically
