Likely the names were isolated incidents, or .. I know of atleast one
Roman legion that was sent way east, I believe as prisoners. So possible
a Goth was included in that captured legion. Or maybe as traders, the
Goths were not always rulers/horsemen/arian christian/mercenaries and
like..
What other info was on the item inscribed? Might give an idea of if they
were members of a tribe, or some other form of reason to be there?
Traders? Mercenaries/Bodyguards/etc..
