Did he?  Well, unlike Heyerdahl's superficially researched and wildly
speculative work, Aelfric's nonsense has the redeeming quality of SEEMING
resonable, at least to anyone who's ever been to Crete.

Gothic content: the apotheosized scoundrels from ancient Crete were probably
not Goths.
