I know well about their crossings through the Balkans, even killing of Byz.
Emp. Valensios, as far as I remember his name. They returned about Edirne
and advanced towards the northwest edge of the peninsular passing along
Filibe-Sofia-Nish-Sarajevo-Zagreb line. Then they passed to Italy. I wonder
if any part of them remained in Illiria.  Goths were crowded enough, but
remained very few when they reached to NE Spain, Katalonia (Goth-Alania).
Ostrogoths in Italy were also likely very few, since they were rapidly
assimilated by the natives. This shows that many of them remained and
settled in countries visited by the migratory mass, if they did not die out
massively along the way...
