Thanks for the all information on the Heyerdahl voyages. So it seems he has
in his theories no intention of bringing in the Goths. But of course, 2000
years ago there can hardly have been so much separation among the Germanic
tribes as there would be 300 years later. One interesting theory (in various
forms) tries to ascribe the Germanic recessive coloring traits to one or
more of the tribes with which it came in contact en route from its origin to
its destination. The Goths must have acquired such traits also, but they
assimilated and met with divers tribes which other Germanic tribes did not.

In any event let's keep ourselves up to date on these things on Germanic-L
or Old Norse Net. When someone finally reminds Mr. Heyerdahl about the
Goths, we'll discuss it here :)
