[gothic-l] Victoria Gothica of Tacitus

Here is the picture of a coin of Emperor Tacitus that I picked up on
ebay recently. With this coin Tacitus celebrated his success in
securing the borders against the Goths. This exemplar is very well
preserved and the picture is of high quality:

The inscription reads: VICTORIA GOTTHI

Tacitus is only one of three emperors who refered to the Goths on
their coins. The others being Claudius Gothicus and his brother
Quintillius. All of these coins have been minted only in small numbers
and are very rare to day.
