Tore,

Tacitus, _Germania_. Translated with Introduction
and Commentary by J.B.Rives, Oxford: Clarendon Press,
1999. Rives is Assistant Professor in the Division
of Humanities and the Programme in Classical
Studies at York University, Toronto, Canada. It is
as far as I know the latest translation of _Germania_ 
into English. Gordon I don't know of.

Bertil

Erland Hjärne wrote about it in his doctoral thesis 
"Bernstensriddaren och Tacitus" 1938. Unfortunately it is in Swedish.

My copy of Germania was translated by Thomas Gordon. My quote above 
is from that translation.
