Hi Paul,

I only read a bit around yesterday. The Heruls are mentioned of
course in the context of their defeat by the Langobards. There are
some interesting maps in the book about the distribution of
Ostrogothic silver coinage and Ostrogothic Spangenhelme in Europe. I
read mainly about the Franks yesterday. As mentioned earlier, Todd
uses a lot of references to archaeology in his interpretations,
meaning that there is quite some new information about the
migrations. It will be interesting to compare the book with the
upcoming book by Walter Pohl, which has a very similar title.
(Voelkerwanderung: Eroberung und Integration)

cheers,
Dirk
