Hi Vladimir

I have only a very limited knowledge regarding names and linguistic
problems - and I am just going to leave my computer for a week.

I do not think I have used the form Hrothiwulf at this list, but at
my website a listmember found Hrothwulf mentioned as the name of Rolf
Krake in Widsith - and Hrothulf in Beowulf - it was not a "back-
derivation". Just now I can recall the name in following other
versions: The Roekstone: Radulf; Saxo: Rolvo; Ynglingasaga: Hrolfur;
Jordanes: Roduulf; Procopius: Rodolphos. The uncle of Rolf - Roar -
was Roe at Saxo and he was called Hrothgar in Widsith and Beowulf
with the sons Hrothmund and Hredrik in Beowulf. At that time the name
Röric (Roeric) was used by Saxo (HraerekR in the sagas) - possibly
even covering Hredrik - but I am not sure if the name could be your
Hrothric too. In the 9th century the Frankish sources mentioned a
Horic in Denmark, but he was called Eric by Saxo.

I hope this can help you - but I think others have to help you with
hypothetic forms of the names.

Troels
