Konow's theory was falsified a few decades later. You may check this out:

W. Wuest, _Goten in Indien?_ in Fr. Aldheim, _Die Geschichte der Hunnen_,
vol. III, Berlin 1961, pp. 141-89.

In short, Wuest points out that the inscriptions mentioned by Konow are too
old to refer to the Goths.
