Hi Le,

what do you mean by Gothic age? Are you talking about the Gothic art
and architecture of the high middle ages? If you are refering to the
East Germanic people called Goths, there was no Gothic age. They
appear first under the name Gotones around 20AD living somewhere
north-east of the Marcomanni, probably the middle Vistula, but not
quite at the coast of the Baltic Sea. And their name seized to exist
as an independent ethnic term some 700 years later at the beginning
of the 8th century. During that period, which is not called Gothic
age, there existed numerous tribal groups which were at one time or
another and with varying degrees of certainty identified as Goths are
belonging to a larger Gothic ethnos.

Cheers
Dirk
