Arius actually condemns adoptionism:

(from his letter to Alexander, via Athanasius):

... nor that He was was before, was afterwards generated or new- 
created into a Son, as thou too thyself, Blessed Pope, in the midst  
of the Church and in session has often condemned ...

I'm not sure where the translation comes from.
