The Gothic form corresponding to Old English 'beorc' would be:
*baírka. Although the word is not recorded in the corpus of Biblical
Gothic, one possible trace of a related word survives in the letter
name recorded as 'bercna' in the Vienna-Salzburg Codex. Incidentally,
the reconstruction *baírka was used by JRR Tolkien in his Gothic poem
Bagme Bloma.
