Gothic influence on Spanish language?

Hello Jason,

the Germanic words are usually regarded as taken from Latin _caseus_.
The underlying form for the Germanic reflexes would be something like
*_kâsi_. The Spanish word would derive from Latin by regular
development *_caseo_ > _casio_ > caiso_ > _c(qu)eso_.
