Go. *kaúrdr N.-a "pack", "herd", corresponding to OE corþor and OHD 
kortar, may be reconstructed on the basis of Ossetic k'ord / k'war
(d) "group", "flock", `multitude" (V. Abaev, 1958, s. v.). The word 
must have been borrowed into Alanic during the presence of the 
Ostrogoths in what is now the Ukraine.
