Jiddish

so the jews have different versions of lingo????......I thought they assimilated their lingos into a Hebrew based 
language....

Actually, the right way to talk about the Yiddish alphabet:  Yiddish is written in a version of the Hebrew alphabet modified somewhat for the phonology of Yiddish.  Yiddish is sometimes transcribed into the Latin alphabet for the convenience of those who don't know the Hebrew alphabet.

No, Yiddish is an Indo-European language, and considered as a Germanic
language by most scholars (some considers it as Slavic, but most only
think it has a strong Slavic influence). Hebrew is a Semitic language.

However Yiddish is often written in an alphabet based on the Hebrew alphabet.
