Old Norse has a term 'blaušr' "soft, weak; female (of animals);<br>
effeminate, cowardly", with the same root as the Gothic verb<br>
'blaužjan'. It's used in a rendering of Mt 11:8, 'blaušan mann', but<br>
also as an insult, e.g. paired with 'ragr' (='argr') in Hrómundar saga<br>
Gripssonar.<br>
