The University at Buffalo (UB), The State University of New York, is
offering a unique program from May 23-June 25, 2001 in Hanoi, Vietnam
that features internships, a lecture series, field trips, and a weekend
visit to Ha Long Bay.

Service learning links theory with experience, favors cooperation
over competition, and brings students into contact with other cultures
and other ways of being in the world. This program provides a rare
opportunity to learn about Vietnam in a variety of settings. (Service
Learning: Making Education More Meaningful by Humphrey Tonkin,
http://www.nafsa.org/publications/ie/fall98_winter99/tonkin.html)

Participants may earn six University at Buffalo credits, or select
the non-credit option. No previous knowledge of Vietnamese is required
for admission.
