Hi everyone,

On Nov. 15 our computer was infected by a hacker with virus
W32.Magistr.39921 at mm through our e-mail. Since this virus was only
discovered on Sept. 3, 2001, our virus protection did not intercepted it
on time since our definitions were not properly updated yet. As you all
can see from the definition fact sheet at site
http://www.sarc.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.magistr.39921@mm.html
this virus can cause a lot of problems, as it can take parts of
documents from files in the hard drive and send them indiscriminately to
addresses taken from our address books and even took addresses from
other people whose addresses we had...you can not imagine the mess it
caused!!!

Hopefully any computer with updated virus definitions caught it in time,
but since we don't know exactly which addresses it picked, I suggest as
a precaution first you update your virus definitions and then run a
complete computer virus scan to fix any problems you might have
inherited. Also, and very important, buy a "firewall" software and
install it so you avoid any future problems.

Sorry if this problem caused any inconvenience. Mary and Sal.
