Assistant Professor / Language Center Director
LMU announces a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor 
level.  The successful candidate will have a knowledge of and expertise in 
the application and assessment of foreign Language pedagogy and 
proficiency.  A facility with CAS / CAI, multimedia, and other technologies 
for foreign language learning essential, as well as experience in teaching 
foreign languages at the undergraduate level.  The candidate will direct 
the Language Center in addition to teaching language classes in our major 
(French, Spanish) and/or minor (German, Italian) programs.The normal 
teaching load for LMU faculty is three courses (9 hours) per semester, but 
course remission will be arranged in proportion to the commitment at the 
Language Center.  Applicants should have a Ph.D. in applied linguistics / 
linguistics, or in French, German, Italian or Spanish.  Evidence of strong 
scholarship or scholarly potential in areas consistent with the 
requirements of the position necessary.  Salary is competitive.  Interviews 
will be held at the MLA convention in New York.   Send letter of
