The Department of Education, Culture, and Society and the Ethnic Studies Program at the University of Utah invite applications for a jointly appointed Assistant Professor position in Bilingual/Dual Language Education and Chicana/o Studies.  The applicant must have an earned doctorate in an appropriate field. Education and research should include one or more of the following fields:  bilingual/dual language education, language diversity in education, linguistic anthropology, sociolinguistics, second language development and bilingualism, the role of language in multicultural curriculum and pedagogy, language socialization, language policy, critical applied linguistics and/or TESOL.  Teaching will include courses in bilingual curriculum and methods, biliteracy and multiliteracies, bilingual/dual language classroom pedagogy as well as courses in Chicana/o Studies.
