You may know Mary Ann Zehr, a reporter for Education Week. She attended
the Heritage Languages in America Conference in October and wrote an
article for Ed Week about the conference, and now she wants to write an
article about SNS programs. She is a good reporter and a good writer.

She plans to be in New York City February 26, 27, and 28. While there
she would like to visit one or two schools that have Spanish for Spanish
Speakers programs and observe in SNS classes. She is most interested in
visiting an ordinary urban school with a typical population of students
who has started such classes. That is, she doesn't want to see a fancy
magnet program that is selective about the students it takes. She wants,
in her article, to feature a few students who take the
classes and tell their stories about Spanish ability and desire to learn
the language.

Do you know of schools with good programs who might be willing to have
her visit? I think this is a great opportunity to get the word out about
SNS programs!!
