Request for assistance: ESL Designated Classrooms

I am looking for research studies examining a specific form of transitional
bilingual education.  In ESL Designated classrooms, the regular classroom
teacher holds an endorsement in ESL / Bilingual Education and provides
linguistically appropriate instruction across the curriculum throughout the
school day.  ESL Designated classrooms exist as an alternative to pullout
programs.  If anyone is familiar with studies or researchers examining ESL
Designated Classrooms, I would greatly appreciate any information you can
provide.
