At TESOL 2006, I went to a colloquium which linked Heritage
Language speakers and Generation 1.5 students. Frank Noji
from Kapiolani Community College was particularly informative
in this regard.

This was a particularly interesting topic for me since
Academic ESL and Foreign Languages are housed in the same
department at my college.

Frank Noji has been kind enough to send me a first draft of
his paper, and through that I was able to track down the
article in Heritage Language Journal, ''Heritage Language
Instruction for Post-secondary Students from Immigrant
Backgrounds'' by Kimi Kondo-Brown, University of Hawai'i at
Manoa. Other articles in the magazine are also interesting.

I would be interested in other articles that explore the
Heritage Language speaker population, especially those which
look at effective language teaching methodology for use with
adults, particularly in a college classroom setting.
