NILI Summer Institute Scholarship Information:
Individuals seeking scholarship funding need to go through an application process. Scholarships will be
for partial tuition for the full institute only and will not cover housing or meals. These funds are
targeted towards those who could not attend the institute without support. We are asking that
applicants who are employed as a teacher or at a language program or school district first seek funding
from their own program. A scholarship committee will review the applications and select recipients.

Costs for the Summer Institute:
A non-refundable deposit of $150 is due by May 22nd, 2009.

• Linguistics -- 8:30am-9:20am
• Language -- 9:30am-11:15am
• Immersion Experience -- 12:45pm-1:20pm
• Methods -- 1:30pm-2:50pm
• Materials and Computers -- 3:00pm-5:00pm
Language Course Offerings:
• Sahaptin – taught by Virginia Beavert
• Chinuk Wawa – taught by Tony Johnson
• Tolowa – taught by Loren Bommelyn
• Lushootseed – taught by Zeke (Zalmai) Zahir
• Independent Study – teacher to be determined
• Tuition (4 University Credits): $1,300
• Materials and Computer Lab Fees: $125
• Approximate Housing Fee: $705 (includes dorm room and all meals)
• Additional Costs: Books $40-50, Parking Permit $45
