The time is ripe to assess the discoveries and theories,<o:p></o:p></PRE><PRE><SPAN class=GramE><FONT face="Courier New" size=2><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt">and</SPAN></FONT></SPAN> to provide a forum for cross-fertilization between Australian and<o:p></o:p></PRE><PRE><SPAN class=GramE><FONT face="Courier New" size=2><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt">world</SPAN></FONT></SPAN> prehistory; and between the different disciplines which<o:p></o:p></PRE><PRE><SPAN class=GramE><FONT face="Courier New" size=2><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt">contribute</SPAN></FONT></SPAN> to our overall understanding of prehistory.
