I don't particularly doubt that it's true, but wonder if anyone knows of a systematic survey on the question? The sources I know give some examples but no evidence that bears directly on how relatively common these two patterns of reduction actually are. Thanks, Joe _______________________________________________ Histling-l mailing list Histling-l at mailman.rice.edu https://mailman.rice.edu/mailman/listinfo/histling-l From Hubert.Cuyckens at arts.kuleuven.be Wed Jul 4 16:29:00 2007 From: Hubert.Cuyckens at arts.kuleuven.be (Hubert Cuyckens) Date: Wed, 4 Jul 2007 18:29:00 +0200 Subject: New Reflections on Grammaticalization 4 Message-ID: An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
