IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR ALL MEMBERS OF THE
INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR HISTORICAL LINGUISTICS

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Several positions in the Society will fall vacant this year, and at the 
Business Meeting to be held during the Nijmegen ICHL a vote will 
be taken on proposals to fill these vacancies.  I have now heard from 
the ISHL Nominating Committee, who have made the following 
nominations:

i)  FUTURE PRESIDENT/CONFERENCE DIRECTOR (for 2013)

Dag Trygve Truslew Haug
(University of Oslo, Norway)

ii)  MEMBER OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE (to serve until 2015)

Michele Loporcaro
(University of Zurich, Switzerland)

iii)  MEMBER OF NOMINATING COMMITTEE (to serve until 2017)

Heidi Quinn
(University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand)

iv)  SECRETARY

The Nominating Committee proposes that John Charles Smith 
(University of Oxford, U.K.) should continue to serve as Secretary of 
the Society.

With these nominations, the composition of the Society's Committees
will be as follows:

According to the Society's Constitution, individual members may also 
make nominations.  Should anyone wish to do so, could they please let
both the Secretary (johncharles.smith at stcatz.ox.ac.uk) and the current 
Chair of the Nominating Committee (company at servidor.unam.mx) 
know by email as soon as possible, and in any event before 1 July.  
Nominations will require the signatures of six proposers and the written 
consent of the nominee.  The nominee and all of the proposers should 
be members of the Society.
