    As a non-specialist American, I totally concur with Larry Trask
on this matter.  Switching to American rather than British spelling
because some self-centered Yankees might be momentarily uncomfortable
is simply absurd.  (As I non-specialist I can't comment about
different phonetic transcriptions, but I would presume that IPA is
best.)
