<div>The 17th<b> International Conference on Historical
Linguistics</b> will be held<font color="#000000"> July 31 - August 5,
2005 in the Pyle Center on the University of Wisconsin campus</font>
in Madison, overlooking Lake Mendota.</div>
<div><font color="#000000"><br></font></div>
<div><font color="#000000"><b>Abstracts:</b> The deadline for
submission of abstracts for papers (20 min. + 10 min. for discussion)
is March 1, 2005, and decisions will be emailed to authors by April 1.
Those who need an earlier decision on abstract should contact the
conference organizers (see below). Abstracts (no more than 250
words) can be submitted on our website; for those who lack access to
