Post-Doctoral Position (50%) in 

Partnership International for Research and Education (PIRE)

Meaning Representations in Language Understanding
=================================================

PIRE is pleased to announce the availability of a two-year 
post-doctoral position (50%) available from October, 2007. The program, 
established in 2006, is a collaborative PhD training program between 
Saarland University, Charles University Prague, Brown University and
Johns Hopkins University.

Research is done in the area of meaning representation for natural
language processing and suitable applications like machine translation
or speech reconstruction.

Candidates must have completed all requirements for their PhD degree by 
the time of appointment. The ideal candidate for the post-doctoral
position will have research interests which span a broad range of topics
in language processing. In addition to the opportunity  to carry out
independent and collaborative research, the position also includes some
administrative duties associated with the program. Some teaching is also
possible, but not a requirement of the post. The position comes with
access to state-of-the-art computing facilities, and the possibility to
use the range of lab facilities on-site. 

Salary is a 50% position on the German TVÖD scale (approx. 20K Euros per
annum, depending on age etc.). Support for travel to conferences is also
available. The position is available from 1 October, 2007.
