[1] *Track Description* The 9th Track of Text Mining and Applications (TeMA 2021) is a forum for researchers working in Human Language Technologies, i.e. Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computational Linguistics (CL), Natural Language Engineering (NLE), Text Mining (TM), Information Retrieval (IR), and related areas. The most natural form of sharing knowledge is indeed through textual documents. Especially on the Web, a huge amount of textual information is openly published every day, on many different topics and written in natural language, thus offering new insights and many opportunities for innovative applications of Human Language Technologies. Following recent advances in general IA sub-fields such as NLP, Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL), text mining is now even more valuable as tool for bridging the gap between language theories and effective use of natural language contents, for harnessing the power of semi-structured and unstructured data, and to enable important applications in real-world heterogeneous environments. Both hidden and new knowledge can be discovered by using text mining methods, at multiple levels and in multiple dimensions, and often with high commercial value. Authors are invited to submit their papers on any of the issues identified in section [2]. Revision of the papers will be double-blind by the members of the Program Committee. All accepted papers will be published by Springer in a volume of Springer?s Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence (LNAI) corresponding to the proceedings of the 20th EPIA Conference on Artificial Intelligence, EPIA 2021. Papers can have a maximum length of 12 pages. All papers should be prepared according to the formatting instructions of Springer LNAI series. Authors should omit their names from the submitted papers, and should take reasonable care to avoid indirectly disclosing their identity. References to own work may be included in the paper, as long as referred to in the third person. All papers should be submitted in PDF format through the conference management website at: http://appia.pt/epia2021/ Authors should consult Springer?s authors? guidelines and use their proceedings templates, either for LaTeX or for Word, for the preparation of their papers. Springer encourages authors to include their ORCIDs in their papers. In addition, the corresponding author of each paper, acting on behalf of all of the authors of that paper, must complete and sign a Consent-to-Publish form. The corresponding author signing the copyright form should match the corresponding author marked on the paper.
