ELDA has been strongly expanding its activities related to the
evaluation<br>
of Human Language Technologies (HLT). The evaluation department at<br>
ELDA is intended to promote the HLT evaluation in Europe, and to act
as<br>
a clearing house for this area with the support of a network of
evaluation<br>
units based on a large number of European institutes (both public and
private<br>
ones).<br>

In order to staff this recently set up evaluation department, ELDA is
seeking<br>
to fill the following positions.<br>
<br>
1/ Department director:<br>
-----------------------------------<br>
He/she will be in charge of managing ELDA’s activities related to
evaluation<br>
and co-ordinating the work of the evaluation team and ELRA evaluation
network.<br>
<br>
Profile:<br>
- Advanced degree in computer science, computational linguistics, library
and<br>
information science, knowledge management or similar fields;<br>
- Experience and/or good knowledge of the evaluation programs in Europe
and<br>
the US;<br>
- Experience in project management, including the management of
European<br>
projects;<br>
- Ability to work independently and in a team, in particular the ability
to supervise<br>
the work of a multi-disciplinary team;<br>
- Proficiency in English.<br>
<br>
2/ Two junior engineers:<br>

They will carry out specific activities in evaluation of HLT.<br>
<br>
Responsibilities: <br>
Under the supervision of the evaluation department director, the junior
engineers<br>
will be involved in the evaluation of Human Language Technologies at
ELDA,<br>
in the framework of collaborative European and international
projects.<br>
Profile:<br>
- Advanced degree in computer science, computational linguistics, library
and<br>
information science, knowledge management or similar fields;<br>
- Experience and/or good knowledge of the evaluation programs in Europe
and<br>
the US;<br>
- Experience in project management, including the management of
European<br>
projects;<br>
- Ability to work independently and in a team;<br>
- Proficiency in English.<br>

The positions are based in Paris and are open now. The candidates
should<br>
have the citizenship (or residency papers) of a European Union
country.<br>

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.<br>
