</b></font><font face="Times New Roman, Times">The Trondheim Summer School in Linguistics (TROSS) at NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology) will offer 3 days with intensive courses, followed by a 2-days workshop, both with the over-all theme <i>Multi-verb constructions in Constraint-Based Grammar</font><font face="Times New Roman, Times" size=4>.<br>

</i></font><font face="Times New Roman, Times">The courses are sponsored by NFR (Norwegian Research Council) through its program 'Nasjonale forskerkurs', and the workshop is sponsored by the NUFU project 'The Legon-Trondheim Linguistics and Literacy Project'.<br>
<br>
The courses give an introduction to <i>Lexical Functional Grammar (LFG)</i> and <i>Head-Driven Phrase Structure Grammar (HPSG)</i>, through their application to multi-verb expressions and 'complex predicates' as manifest in West-African, and South- and South-East Asian languages. Teachers are <i>Miriam Butt</i>, University of Manchester, <i>Mary Esther Kropp Dakubu</i>, University of Ghana, <i>Kweku E. Osam</i>, University of Ghana, and <i>Stephen M. Wechsler</i>, University of Texas at Austin. <br>
The ensuing workshop focuses on the same and related themes, with invited talks as well as selected papers. The invited speakers are <i>Felix Ameka</i>, University of Leiden, <i>Miriam Butt</i>, University of Manchester, <i>Mary Esther Kropp Dakubu</i>, University of Ghana, and <i>Stephen M. Wechsler</i>, University of Texas at Austin. There will be about 10-12 selected papers (see below). Participants in the workshop are welcome to also attend the courses.<br>

The contributions should address the topics of multi-verb and complex predicate constructions, possibly with data from other language areas than those in focus for the course, and not necessarily presented in the frameworks highlighted in the course. <br>
