I am the Director of the Culture & Heritage Program on the Warm Springs
Indian Reservation of Oregon. We currently are teaching our three languages
in the public school system grades K-5. It's been the inspiration of all
the other language programs that has moved our program to where it is today.
The language teachers are currently in process of applying for the Oregon
Native Language Teacher's Certification that was approved in the 2001 Oregon
Legislative Assembly.
We have great interest in technology and what is being developed. We have
been using Mac's that has fonts for our three languages, developed by our
linguist several years ago. Our program is looking for good ideas on
archiving/access in a database relevant to our culture and languages.
I look forward to this new conversation site.
