Here is another voice (rather than just a watcher of your  communications). 
The Sacramento, California Bee today had a from page story on  the language 
issues.  The story "Experts spreading the word:Save dying  languages" has a 
byline of Randolph E. Schmid, AP. There is a trailer that  refers readers to 
_www.sacbee.com/links_ (http://www.sacbee.com/links)   to read more and use an 
interactive map. Sadly, there is no local follow  bringing the information closer 
to home as there are many communities in  California where native speakers are 
trying to keep alive, and in some cases  rekindle, traditional languages.
