First nations language to be taught in schools

In an effort to preserve native languages, some schools in B.C. will be offering
Halq'eméylem as a second language in their curriculum, the province announced
Friday.

Halq'eméylem is the language of the Upper Fraser First Nations, and is the 10th
native language curriculum to receive provincial approval.
