A further detail on "Jehovah" is that in our Jewish tradition this
name, written YHWH in Hebrew, may not be pronounced. Whenever it is
encountered in the text of the "Old Testament", it is pronounced
"adonai", which means "lord". (In Modern Hebrew "adon" is "Mister".)
YHWH is what in some cultures is called a "war name" or "secret name",
knowledge of which gives power of that individual.
