The reports of the Sakhalin delegation aroused much interest among participants
of the All-Russian Research and Practice Conference

YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK. September 18. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The Republic of Sakha, Yakutia,
hosted the All-Russian Research and Practice Conference “Native Languages of
the Indigenous Peoples of the Russian Federation within the Russian Educational
System”. The Sakhalin delegation took part in the conference.

According to the press-service office of the regional Administration, the
conference was attended by state officials from five foreign countries,
representatives of 15 regions of the Russian Federation, members of the UN
Department of Economic and Social Affairs as well as members of Assembly of the
First Nations, Regional Office North West Territories, The Council of the
Federation Committee on Northern Territories and Indigenous Minorities Issues,
Russian Association of Indigenous Peoples of the North, Siberia and Far East
(RAIPON) and many other organizations.

The participants in the high-profile forum discussed challenging issued relating
to the native languages of the indigenous minorities relying on the
international and domestic experience of preserving endangered ethnic cultures.
