Native youth rekindle dying language

As a boy growing up on the Tsuu T'ina Nation, Beric Manywounds
struggled with confusion over his identity and place in the world.

But somehow, the handsome 28-year-old managed to find his way,
graduating from British Columbia's Capilano University and becoming a
filmmaker who documents the experience of his people.

"I gained some stability and healing in my life," Manywounds tells me
as we sit together just before the start of a special ceremony at the
Tsuu T'ina Nation on Friday morning.

"I embraced my culture, and by teaching it to other young people, I
can help them also find their way."
