FYI, There is a discussion on the Unicode list that mentions a script that according to the below email was once (but no longer?) used for some Native American languages. At issue is a suggestion that it be encoded in the Unicode standard.

Unifon was used at one point to write several languages in northern
California, so it has seen practical application. I'm not sure how much
material was published in this form. I don't think that any of these tribes
is still using Unifon.
