Greetings,

The day before yesterday, there were headlines in the local Quito,
Ecuador newspaper El Comercio that read:

Lunas 12 de septiembre
Lenguas en peligro de extinción

Myself, Marianne Mithun (UC Santa Barbara), and Armin Schwegler (UC
Irvine) were mentioned by name.  This is in reference to the recent
Foundation for Endangered Languages XV Annual Conference that was held
at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador in Quito, Sept 7-10,
2011.
