<font size="2"><font face="georgia,serif">UA Researchers Help Preserve Scottish Gaelic<br><br>Andrew Carnie, a UA linguistics professor, is leading a team of researchers on a project to analyze and document the use of Scottish Gaelic. The team hopes their work will help Scottish and Scottish-American communities working to preserve the language.<br>

<br>And those concerned with preserving and advancing the use of Scottish Gaelic face another dilemma – the lack of measures accurately stating what constitutes normative Gaelic speech. <br><br>At the University of Arizona, Andrew Carnie is leading a team in an analysis of Scottish Gaelic and its use among native speakers. <br>
